The Opportunity:
As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your skills to ensure that things run smoothly. We’re looking for a software sustainment engineer like you to apply your knowledge to our government clients’ challenges and their legacy enterprise systems. Here, you’ll impact technology that helps enable distributed mission operations (DMO) training for the Air National Guard.
As a software sustainment engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll have an operational impact from day one. Supporting a team of professionals, you’ll maintain and make changes to existing applications. You’ll use programming and scripting languages, including PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, MySQL, MariaDB, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, and C++ to assist the team as they continuously enhance and maintain the application, troubleshoot any issues that arise operationally, and upgrade the system to meet security requirements. Most importantly, you’ll strengthen your skills as we advise our government clients on the best ways to improve and modernize the existing systems. You Have:
Experience with software development using PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, MySQL, MariaDB, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, or C++
Experience with implementing and supporting APIs between internal and external system components
Experience with Agile software development and Software Development Lifecycle processes
Experience with software design, architectures, application development and maintenance
Experience with debugging and analysis tools
Ability to assist with gathering requirements and transforming information into solutions that exceed customer expectations Ability to assist with preparing and presenting findings and recommendations to organization leadership
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, or Technology
Nice If You Have:
2+ years of experience with software development using PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, MySQL, MariaDB, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, or C++
2+ years of experience with implementing and supporting APIs between internal and external system components Experience with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) related software applications, scheduling tools and environment generator applications
Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies via self-study and collaboration with team members
Top Secret clearance
Master's degree in Computer Science, Science, or Tehcnology
Security+ certification, and Software Development, IT, or IA certifications
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
