Cybersecurity Technical Writer

Key Role:

Create new and update existing documentation, including SOPs, playbooks, requirements, process flows, and user cases. Oversee, evaluate, edit, and support documentation processes necessary to assure a mature, validated, and robust documentation repository consistent with the customer's Cybersecurity mission. Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), engineering and operational project teams, end users, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high quality documentation, including executive-level briefings, whitepapers, and training plans.

Basic Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with technical writing

-Knowledge of information and data management

-Knowledge of DITA and XML authoring tools, including RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, and Adobe Acrobat Professional

-Knowledge of 508 Compliance remediation

-Ability to master the current internal documentation tool chain and assist with the development and improvement of documentation life cycle management

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in an agile environment with rapid deadlines

-Experience as a project coordinator, communication specialist, or a related role

-Experience with project management from conception to delivery

-Experience with Cybersecurity communications language and subject matter

-Knowledge of risk management and quality assurance control

-Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner

-Ability to write clear and concise task-based information for a technical audience

-Ability to be a strategic thinker and thrive while working in a fast-paced team environment

-Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including writing clear and concise task-based information for a technical audience

-Possession of excellent editing skills, including in the AP style and Chicago Manual style

-Possession of excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

-Possession of excellent client-facing and teamwork skills
