Knowledge Management Specialist, Mid

Key Role:

Serve as a knowledge management specialist, creating, developing, implementing, and maintaining a Knowledge Management (KM) program to ensure continued access to critical knowledge required in support of successful mission execution. Leverage KM expertise to implement and manage KM initiatives that drive knowledge creation, capture, sharing or collaboration, use, and transfer. Make recommendations for executing KM strategies, plans, processes, tools, KM assessments, meeting management practices, and participation in KM working groups. Contribute to an integral and critical role supporting Army records management initiatives and best practices, including collecting, digitizing, and preserving records for the future workforce. Promote and support an organizational culture of innovation and learning. Guide and recommend the integration of new and current KM tools. Apply KM expertise to coordinate with external knowledge sources and integrate them into the organizational knowledge network. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with KM in a professional work environment

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams

  • Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio

  • Knowledge of KM fundamentals, tools, and processes

  • Knowledge of the Army

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and accuracy of information

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Army or DoD technical writing

  • Experience with developing, designing, editing, and presenting training on KM tools and concepts

  • Experience with leveraging KM applications through organizational analysis

  • Experience with collecting process-related information through one-on-one interviews or focus group facilitation

  • Ability to organize large amounts of data setting priorities for analysis and use in consultation with stakeholders

  • Ability to coordinate and build relationships with diverse and executive-level clients

  • Ability to interact with technical staff and translate technical information for varying audiences

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Secret clearance

  • Civilian or Army KM Certifications, including Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) Certification
