Data Analyst and Acquisition Specialist

Advana is a multi-domain technology platform which offers military and business decision makers, analysts, and users at all levels unprecedented access to authoritative enterprise data and structured analytics in a scalable, reliable, and secure environment. It offers platform-, data analytics-, and data science-as-a-service tools to complete analysis and data exploration and data visualization capabilities. Using one central data platform with right-time data, data tools, and other self-service products, the goal of Advana is to simplify solutions and put the power of analytics in the pocket of every analyst and decision-making authority. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

How You’ll Contribute: 

As a data acquisition analyst on our team, you’ll: 

  • Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships. 
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation evaluation and analysis of large data sets in multiple functional areas. 
  • Accelerate client progress towards becoming data-centric and integrate critical data assets across disparate systems.
  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations. 
  • Apply consulting and communications skills with data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends for our client. 
  • Grow your communication and technical skills by merging consulting and big data to create data-centric solutions across diverse mission areas.

You Have:  

  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, auditing, internal controls, business processes, or data analytics
  • 1+ years of experience with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data mappings, workflows, and processes
  • Experience organizing databases and their tables or organizing file systems for efficient hierarchies and information flow
  • Experience writing data ingestion business rules in SQL, or building data reconciliations
  • Ability to analyze and understand data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
  • Ability to communicate and interface with teams to solve problems and proactively enhance business processes
  • Ability to write clearly and articulate problems to other teams and clients
  • Secret clearance 
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with modern relational databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience acquiring, ingesting, preparing, and normalizing data
  • Experience working with DoD business or financial systems
  • Experience providing recommendations using dashboards, visualizations, or reports using BI platforms, including QlikSense or Tableau
  • Ability to manipulate and integrate databases with SQL, Python, or R
  • Ability to comprehend stakeholder needs effectively, communicate development plans, track progress milestones, navigate a complex matrix environment, and manage competing priorities
  • Possession of excellent communication skills, including briefing senior leadership
  • Possession of excellent quantitative skills, including statistical analysis, process design, and data management
  • Possession of excellent thinking skills, including assessing numbers, trends, and data to reach new conclusions based on findings
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics or IT

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Colorado: $79,000 - $165,100 (annualized USD)

New York (including New York City): $83,900 - $201,700 (annualized USD)
