Communications Security Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Join a team of communications and systems engineers supporting the engineering, sustainment, and management of communication-related systems within the DoD. Perform ongoing system analyst activities in support of DoD programs. Perform risk assessments of systems and equipment, assist engineers with identifying solutions for vulnerabilities, create and map DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), submit change requests for system components, develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), create documentation in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations, perform vulnerability management using automated systems, and create and submit RMF packages. Brief technical security posture to client leadership, prepare briefing packages and summary of vulnerabilities, and articulate how to prevent and mitigate future security threats.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with executing, analyzing, securing, and accrediting DoD communication systems under the RMF

-Experience with evaluating security architectures and developing security guidance documentation related to communication systems

-Experience with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), including both usage and system implementation for communications technologies, Internet protocol network architecture and systems, or digital and analog electronics

-Experience with STIG and Secure Control Assessment Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker (SCC) tools and reading, interpreting, and updating a STIG checklist or SCC report

-Top Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Cisco, Juniper, Network, CCNA, or JNCIA Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD information assurance policies, directives, and STIGs, as applicable to communication systems

-Experience with using DoD eMASS systems

-Experience in assessing organizational risk associated with security threats and recommending mitigation strategies

-Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications, including 800-30, 800-37, 800-53, and 800-53a

-Ability to display a dynamic and flexible personality to interact with clients to perform technical audits

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Certified Ethical Hacker or CISSP Certification

-Security+ Certification

-DoD ACAS or eMASS system training
