Cyber Information Technology Specialist

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems and maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems. Serve as a front line interface to users with technical issues, make recommendations for hardware and software purchases, and interact with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff. Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies and install new software, troubleshoot, and grant permissions to applications and training users. Program in an administrative language, including C and C++, as needed and apply expertise in UNIX or NT-based operating systems. Implement and coordinate cross-functional communication, implement operational policies in the managed area, and participate in strategy development for the corporate function, as needed. Maintain responsibility for the effective operation of activities of significance to the organization. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience as an IT specialist

-Experience with addressing scientific engineering or business objectives by writing, modifying, or adapting computer programs in machine level, assembly, and third or fourth generation programming languages

-Experience in interfacing with and using minicomputer and main computer systems when addressing project objectives

-Experience with identifying and using standard, unconventional, and original mathematical, algorithmic, and programmatic approaches to define, plan, organize, design, develop, modify, test, and integrate database or data processing systems, computer hardware systems, and simulation models

-Knowledge of computer science and information management principles, data processing functions, Automated Data Processing (ADP) hardware and software systems structures and operations, and computer programming languages and techniques to solve automation problems

-Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Information Systems, CS, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering

-DoD 8140 or 8570 Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience with developing design specifications by conducting inspection and analysis to offset various malware and protect and defend DoD infrastructure

-Experience with researching the unconventional application of software and operating systems when designing and developing new methodologies, significant modifications, or adaptations of standardized techniques

-Experience with planning and managing large-scale upgrades, planning and scheduling large-scale migration activities, designing, installing, configuring, and operating LANs and WANs, and applying expertise in administrative work to solving challenging IT issues

-Experience with top-level technical work, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis

-Ability to create detailed design specifications for use by software development staff members

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including coordinating efforts and establishing customer relations
