Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to validate and test system requirements. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies and provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations, develop technical documentation, and develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a system engineer
  • Experience with providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware or software systems
  • Experience with developing scenarios or threads and an operational concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment
  • Experience with establishing a process to formally and proactively control and manage changes to the system, consider impacts to change, gain stakeholder buy-in, eliminate ambiguity, ensure traceability to source requirements, and track and settle open defects
  • Ability to define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan
  • Ability to set-up, configure, maintain, and operate key management systems in a lab environment
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • BA or BS degree in System Engineering, CS, Information Systems, Engineering Science, EE, or Engineering Management

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Key Management, Legacy and Modernized Key Management Solutions
  • Experience with debugging and modifying existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance
  • Experience with Satellite Communications
  • Experience with Agile Development / Test Methodology
  • Ability to gather requirements from project teams and determine priorities
  • Ability to travel locally and CONUS 10% of the time.

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
