Science User Services Analyst, Junior

Key Role:

Leverages expertise and skills to increase knowledge in atmospheric science.  Assesses science data users need and provides feedback to data archive and distribution product development teams. Provides technical solutions to client inquiries with development teams. Showcases major features and functions to end users and provides recommendations on the design of user interface, usability tests, and information architecture.  Generates creative ideas and puts them into action. Evaluates routine processes and find unique solutions for adding customer value. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with working in a scientific field or customer service environment
  • Experience with using or managing science data distribution systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of customer support principles
  • Ability to think critically to further investigate, diagnose and resolve systemic issues
  • Ability to collect robust usage and performance metrics using web analytic tools
  • Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with using NASA earth science data
  • Experience with Kayako help desk software
  • Experience with programming or data analysis in Python
  • Experience with knowledge management principles and systems
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in an earth science or computer science field
  • ITIL certification
  • Certified Knowledge Manager
