Windows System Engineer

Key Role:

As a systems engineer within our corporate Information Services division, you will be responsible for supporting equipment in a Microsoft Windows environment, starting with the initial design and continuing on through the implementation and finally settling into support. Perform a wide variety of installations, configurations, and upgrades of servers, related hardware, and software in on-prem and hybrid Cloud environments. Provide research, investigation, diagnostic testing, and the repair or resolution of systems, hardware, software, and infrastructure while adhering to standardized practices and procedures. Interface with various IS teams, supervisors, managers, and clients on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with scripting languages, including PowerShell, Bash, Python, Node, Groovy, or Ruby

-Experience with popular Windows Server operating systems, including 2012R2, 2016, and 2019

-Experience with Actifio data backup & recovery solution, or some other enterprise backup & recovery solution.

-Experience with VMware, vCenter and Site Recovery Manager

-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and communicate effectively with clients and teammates

-Ability to author and update technical documentation on various environments, when appropriate

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and Docker

-Experience with automated \ self-provisioning of virtual infrastructure

-Knowledge of LAN and WAN environments

-Knowledge of automated Windows Server patch management solutions, including Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager

-Ability to coordinate the replacement, repair and installation of routine FRUs with vendor and internal teams.

-Ability to travel <10%, when required

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills
