Flight Data Analyst

Key Role:

Apply statistical and evaluative methodologies of security, reliability, and utilization of legacy systems used by the organization to determine if organizational needs can be more readily met by enhancing existing assets or if a replacement is more cost effective. Use data architecture and modeling as the framework for organizing and defining the interrelationships of data in support of the mission, goals, objectives, and strategies. Analyze the use of archived data to optimize the use of existing database programs and coordinate specific test requirements with the appropriate agencies to collect Time Space Position Information (TSPI) to facilitate post mission merge. Configure for the live mission viewing and recording of these information displays for the execution of test missions, including processing Air-to-Air Infrastructure (AARI) "flash cards," Data Transfer Cartridges, and solid-state canisters containing flight instrumentation data. ​

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with recognizing deficiencies in processes

  • 2+ years of experience with customer focus with field service

  • 2+ years of experience with organizing and compiling data

  • 2+ years of experience with performing testing, troubleshooting, and correcting problems relative to interface databases

  • 2+ years of experience with organizing and compiling data using SQL databases

  • 2+ years of experience using Excel and Access databases

  • Experience with managing and maintaining VMWare and Windows servers

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience with data processing or analytics in lieu of a degree

  • Security+ Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with data collection, including real-time, post, ownership, and truth data, data pre-processing, cutting data, data reduction, data archiving, and meeting data deliverables

  • Experience with troubleshooting missing data and malfunctioning network systems

  • Experience with managing user accounts setup and Active Directory management on Windows systems

  • Experience with hardware or software programming

  • Experience with Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) regulations and operating procedures

  • Experience in working with communications protocols, including Fibre Channel, MIL-STD-1553, IEE-1394, Common Airborne Instrumentation System Bus (CAIS Bus), or RS-485

  • Experience with sustaining systems, software, and database support

  • Experience with RMF/JSIG Compliance

  • Experience with managing system and data backup and recovery on Windows
