Exploration Test Engineer

Key Role:

Document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new or modified products or product components, investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel, and provide technical support and advice to other engineering groups. Guide and direct junior personnel on the set-up and performance of tests. Act as a liaison with outside suppliers, including establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items and analyze testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors. Analyze the development, maintenance, and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs. Lead or direct projects and assists with the review and evaluation of personnel performance, as needed. Act as a liaison for other other departments, divisions, and organizations, as needed, evaluate progress and results, and recommend major changes in procedures. Operate with considerable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting exploration mission testing, simulations, and science integration activities

-Experience with recommending test objectives and configurations

-Experience with NASA programs, projects, and systems

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree required
