Weapons Testing Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity:

As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to ensuring our military’s advanced test facilities and supporting infrastructure are prepared to support cutting-edge testing and technology. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their expertise to help our client comply with local, state, and federal codes while supporting our country’s research, development, and testing of advanced energy and weapons systems.

You’ll help our clients build, renovate, and adapt their facility portfolio based on changing mission requirements. This will require knowledge of electrical compliance within an energetic manufacturing environment, including lightning protection, energetics grounding, and bonding systems.

At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform the DoD. Our team is ensuring that the facilities, energy, and infrastructure supporting testing are ready to rise to the challenge of the changing landscape around weapons testing. That’s why we need you, an electrical engineer who is proficient at completing facility design services and supporting the review of designs for compliance with code and energetic manufacturing processes to help our client realize state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure through construction and commissioning.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience with design, and working in a professional environment
  • Experience developing statements of work, and reviewing facility designs for compliance with codes, standards, and other requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical or electronics lab environments
  • Knowledge of low voltage and medium voltage AC, DC systems, and magnetics
  • Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), ASHRAE standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and power engineering industry standards
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and standards
  • Ability to design facilities and support the review of facility designs completed by others for compliance with code
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with MEP construction drawing sets
  • Experience working with advanced electrical distribution system design and construction
  • Knowledge of weapons testing, energy storage, and supporting infrastructure
  • Master’s degree in EE, Electronics Engineering, or ME

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
