Model-Based Systems Engineer, Senior

As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape the Navy's Directed Energy capabilities by leading Digital Engineering implementation and initiatives for High Energy Laser (HEL) design, development, and acquisition. Your technical expertise will be vital as you provide MBSE expertise to develop strategies for system behavioral analysis, requirements verification and test planning, and interface integration and management for a complex HEL projects. You'll develop your skills in modeling, simulation, and data analysis while gaining experience with HEL systems and other various DE projects. Leverage your skills by merging system engineering and modeling and simulation to create strategies and approaches that take advantage of emerging Digital Engineering capabilities. You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience with supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts, including requirements analyses, interface designs, architecture development, and test plans

  • Experience using Innoslate, an MBSE tool, to develop diagram representation of the functional and physical components of a system model and ensuring traceability of the interactions and relationships between diagrams

  • Knowledge of DoD standards, handbooks, instructions, and guidelines for Systems Engineering

  • Ability to conduct requirements traceability analyses in support of test and evaluation, planning, modeling and simulation, verification, and validation activities

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with supporting systems engineering for hardware and software integration in a complex System of Systems (SoS) environment

  • Experience with U.S. Navy or other armed services’ Directed Energy systems research and development programs

  • Experience using MBSE tools and the application of SysML, UML, UDPM, or UAF

  • Ability to develop code in support of physics-based simulation environments

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics preferred

  • INCOSE or OCSMP certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
