The Challenge:
Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute to the development of powerhouse systems that will put this country on the leading edge of national defense? As a software engineer, you’ll contribute your skills and help solve problems with end-to-end assessments of agile environment developed solutions.
As a software engineer on our team, you’ll work with subject matter experts, developers, and fellow engineers to overcome our government customer’s most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches. You’ll use your passion to learn new tools and techniques, while helping to identify and implement system improvements. Using Agile Software development principles, you’ll guide development of safe, secure, and effective weapon system architectures. You’ll analyze the needs and the environment to ensure the solution weapon system contractors develop considers current architecture, operating environments, and safety and surety for the system, for current and future functionality and enhancements. This role does not include design work and doesn’t require coding.

You Have:
8+ years of experience with engineering design, development, or evaluation
5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing software programming applications using agile methods
5+ years of experience with embedded software languages and products
5+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing and supporting embedded software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, and optimizing code based on the platform being used
Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment
Experience with verification and validation
Experience in requirement traceability
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:
5+ years of experience with embedded programming and scripting languages, such as Java, JavaScript, C/C++, or Python
Experience with software architecture and Design, UML, and SysML
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience with DoD acquisition processes
Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Top Secret clearance
Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,400.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
