Hardware Systems Engineer, Mid

As a systems engineer, you will perform engineering tasks for multi-level System Help Desk support and systems upgrade engineering efforts, including troubleshooting hardware failures, analyzing failure rates and criticality, assisting in the design and integration of suitable upgrades, and responding to engineering-level client problems and requests. You will assist in the development of network architecture, system monitoring, software integration, and system-level testing and review and develop system drawings and supporting technical data package documentation, including installation and configuration of hardware components for technical order inclusion. You will interact with client engineers and vendor engineers, respond to technical questions and requests from clients and users, and travel to conduct installations and systems integration at customer sites. You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience applying theoretical and conceptual expertise for hardware support and system operational availability
  • Experience with switches and firewalls
  • Ability to learn and operate a wide range of instrumentation and equipment for building, testing, validating, modifying, and troubleshooting complex communication and electrical systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or CS

Nice If You Have:

  • 1+ years of experience with comprehensive analysis of Aviation Command and Control (C2) system concepts, designs, and test requirements
  • Experience with computer networking, configuration, and system administration
  • Experience with hardware installation and cable fabrication
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
