Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Key Role:
Work as a senior platform modeling and simulation engineer to lead the application of M&S to tool development, data modeling, effects modeling, real time model development consisting of virtualized systems platforms, threats, environments and events for advanced test and evaluation of weapon systems and infrastructure.  Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to develop innovative modeling and simulation solutions to complex Cyber challenges. Apply mathematical disciplines to ensure the application of statistical theory to model and pattern for operational platform scenarios. Use statistical theory in modeling, simulation, and large data analysis to deliver lasting, measurable improvements to the client organization. Leverage an engineering expertise with modeling in an agile environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience with advanced modeling and simulation software
  • Experience with military operational communications systems and platforms
  • Knowledge of agent-based modeling, discrete event, system dynamics, optimization, or Monte Carlo modeling
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile
  • Knowledge of relational databases, including Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL and developing statistical and simulation models
  • Knowledge of computer network modeling and attack analysis
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, CS, Engineering, CE, MIS, or CIS


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in interacting with technical audiences on technical problems, working in a highly collaborative, team oriented environment, and balancing long term and short term tasking
  • Experience with Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop solutions independently to analyze systems requirements, map input and output processes, capture relationships amongst parameters of complex systems, and develop measures of system health and performance
  • Ability to develop predictive models of system performance and guide decision makers through recommendations for M&S applications
  • Ability to perform quantitative analysis using tools of the systems engineering trade to develop tools, processes, models, and simulations
  • Ability to develop threat laydowns and simulation capabilities representing Department of Defense computer network defense fundamentals to include predictive risk, threat, vulnerability, and mission impact to the Department of Defense Operations
  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, CS, Engineering, CE, MIS, or CIS

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
