AWS Cloud Architect, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as a lead cloud infrastructure, network, and security engineer on an Army project to maintain cloud environments for applications and systems. Lead a team of Amazon Web Services (AWS) engineers to maintain an L4 AWS environment for an Army system, perform configurations of an Application Delivery Controller (ADC) and environment components to comply with IL4 Risk Review, and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO). Work with a cyber team to address security vulnerabilities. Recommend tools and capabilities based on research of the environment and knowledge of on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. Work with customers, migration teams, and cloud architects to inform strategy and architecture design. Share expertise through leadership and mentoring. Identify new opportunities to build cloud solutions to help customers meet their toughest challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a technical role
  • 5+ years of experience supporting the government sector with AWS cloud initiatives at an enterprise level
  • Experience designing and automating the provisioning of cloud resources and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools, including Terraform, Vault, and Secrets Manager, or with Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies, including Kubernetes
  • Experience using RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), command-line interfaces such as bash, Gitlab such as yaml, and Microsoft Windows
  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing secure solutions in AWS and available AWS applications, utilities, and tools
  • Experience with infrastructure or application architecture and cloud migration
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Ability to obtain DoD Directive 8570 or 8140 Series IAT Level II Certification within 2 months of start date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Agile development techniques and ceremonies
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of network technologies, including DNS, Load Balancing, and SSL
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • AWS Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
