Architect and Interior Designer

Key Role:

Perform space and architectural surveys, collect user requirements, and interface with government project managers, building maintenance contractors, general contractors, or other personnel. Assist with design reviews of government projects and analyze high-level cost for construction using historical and research data. Gather and define customer's design requirements prior to design contract requests, prepare solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters, create design and construction documents, prepare project specifications, analyze record control documents, and generate presentation graphics. Coordinate design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction, and related functional areas. Ensure compliance with building codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Manage and monitor architecture and engineering (A&E) firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handle contract close out, manage project design or construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight, and manage and evaluate construction contractor performance. Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets, provide technical guidance and assistance with contracting and construction-related issues, direct design efforts, recommend construction documents for approval, and oversee any follow-on maintenance programs, optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements, and conduct design reviews with the customer.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with performing space and architectural surveys

-Experience in assisting with design reviews

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-BA or BS degree in Architecture or Interior Design
