Business Operations Lead

The Challenge:

As a member of the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance (LEC) Project Management Office (PMO), provide business operations support to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO) and project management and consultative support to medium to large, complex and highly visible projects in the LEC Department.

As part of business operations support to the CECO, maintain responsibility for facilitating strategic planning and execution activities, facilitate quarterly E&C PMRs, demonstrate project management expertise to LEC practitioners, and perform a variety of activities to ensure effective and efficient daily business operations, including documentation development, such as agenda, decks, and notes, as appropriate, budget activities, business continuity, and data calls.

You’ll help to guide cross-functional project teams in LEC across the full project management life cycle from initial concept through implementation. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and assist the CECO with E&C’s annual or semi-annual strategic planning activities to include analysis of relevant data, identification of IMT priorities, and development of templates for program level execution plans to ensure efforts align to and enable E&C and LEC strategic priorities.
  • Lead quarterly PMRs to provide visibility and insight of the status of program execution activities to CECO, including developing the agenda, preparing any relevant meeting materials to present Smartsheet data in a visually compelling and easy to understand format.
  • Develop and implement appropriate project management strategies, standards, processes, and procedures, including data requirements and improvements in Smartsheet for both direct and matrixed LEC employees with compliance responsibilities. Provide guidance, direction, peer review and mentor project leaders on project management fundamentals to enable their success.
  • Coordinate with LEC CoS and LECCA Engagement Lead on employee engagement activities relevant for E&C and Investigations teams including but not limited to Tiger teams and action plans from the Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Work with LEC CoS, finance PoC and other stakeholders in the annual LEC budgeting process, develop recommendations for E&C program budget, obtain input from E&C program leads and facilitate a bottom-up budget build, coordinate with Finance PoC to develop monthly spend reports, update forecasts, and proactively manage surge support, including non LEC cross charging budget to optimize limited resources.
  • Serve as charge number PM, including add employees to Integrify, issue and monitor task authorizations, and validate monthly charges.
  • Maintain appropriate Teams and SharePoint sites consistent with LEC Knowledge Management standards and identify and bring forward opportunities for improvement

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in program and project management with a record of accomplishment and driving results
  • 5+ years of experience with business operations capacity as an enterprise thinker to comprehend the implications of decisions and identifying risks or opportunities for improvement proactively
  • 5+ years of experience as a management consultant, gathering data and input from multiple stakeholders, conducting analyses, developing or applying various strategic and analytic frameworks appropriately, developing recommendations, conveying ideas succinctly, or providing context to gain consensus
  • Experience with financial acumen and Booz Allen project and program financials, including managing the key financial controls needed to run departments, programs, and projects successfully
  • Experience with Microsoft products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Smartsheet or developing and acquiring intermediate expertise in a reasonable timeframe
  • Ability to perform under pressure, identify, escalate, and resolve issues, process information, learn quickly, think critically, exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate a high degree of maturity, discretion, and integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail, develop metrics, provide analysis, and produce reports and dashboards
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred; MBA degree a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
