Corporate Business Continuity Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Leverage subject matter expertise to our BC Stakeholders on all phases of the BC life cycle with an emphasis on Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), Recovery Strategies, BC Plan Development, Testing, Training and Exercises (TT&E). Work with our designated corporate teams to develop, maintain, and exercise these plans in conjunction with our BC Coordinators (BCCs), Business Process Owners (BPOs), Recovery Team Members, as well as our Information Services team. Assist in responding to, and managing, recovery teams through actual disaster incidents or exercises, crisis, and business interruption events affecting Booz Allen, our staff, or our operations. Ensure that robust, action oriented and exercisable BC Plans exist with all our corporate departments. Leverage your high-quality interpersonal skills to form strong and trusted partnerships with all BC stakeholders. Perform critical business process dependency mapping to ensure critical dependencies, such as our IT/IS applications, have recovery capabilities that meet our business needs. Gather BC performance metrics to ensure that our Leadership Team fully understands the firms Business Continuity capabilities are as well as any gaps which exist with options to close those gaps. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with working directly in corporate business continuity
  • Experience with developing, exercising, maintaining, and continuously improving BC plans
  • Experience with developing, gathering, and reporting on BC performance metrics
  • Experience with private sector emergency preparedness and response activities, project management, and risk management principles and practices
  • Experience with implementing and managing automated business continuity planning systems
  • Knowledge of all phases of the Business Continuity (BC) life cycle
  • Ability to facilitate tabletop and functional exercises
  • Ability to effectively present in front of employees at all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience using the Fusion Framework System or other automated BC Planning tools
  • Experience with critical business process dependency mapping
  • Experience with operational planning and organization
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Knowledge of BC terms and definitions and correct applicability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand scope of recovery efforts, coordinate critical activities during continuity exercises and incidents, events, and understand the tools required to pull projects together
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple projects
  • Ability to support evening or weekend work
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, presentation, organization, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • BA or BS degree in Business, Information Systems, IT, Risk, or related field
  • Business Continuity Professional Certification
