Data Management and Requirements Analyst, Senior

The Opportunity:
You know that true progress is made at the intersection of business and tech, and as an IT business analyst, you’re highly skilled in both. Here, you’ll have the chance to work with an agile team as they build a next-generation data lake supporting Booz Allen’s internal IT and security operations teams. We’re looking for someone like you to propel business analytics and processes forward through collaboration with stakeholders across our IT organization.

You’ll identify clients’ business needs, gather user requirements, and develop user stories. You’ll understand the overall direction and nuanced user needs clearly, and you’ll lead your team as they fulfill these needs by creating deployable features. You will develop, implement, and manage robust processes for onboarding new data sources and managing the lifecycle of data requirements. You’ll partner with data engineers to translate data owner requirements into fully realized data pipelines. You will collaborate with other data management professionals to define, refine, and implement data quality standards and represent the IT operations data lake team. You’ll learn about cloud-based big data technologies, including Databricks and how to create sustainable business processes around their use. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with translating and analyzing business requirements into system testable requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with data management or data analysis

  • 2+ years of experience in working with an Agile framework

  • Ability to create documentation and distill complex technical concepts into business language

  • Ability to facilitate information discovery sessions with business owners and SMEs to extract all appropriate information and context

  • Ability to be detailed-oriented in requirements breakdown, grasp new concepts quickly, comprehend the intent of a client’s needs, and help to shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities

  • Ability to work directly and collaboratively with technical staff, including developers and testers

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience using SQL or Python to explore or interact with data

  • 2+ years of experience working in an IT Security or IT Operations domain

  • Knowledge of Jira Agile

  • Knowledge of Databricks or Apache Spark

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
