Deputy Market Controller

Key Role:

Support the CFO mentality as the deputy group controller, including ensuring revenue and profit growth, mitigating financial risks, and promoting compliance as a critical objective of strategic decision making. Report to the assistant corporate controller while being operationally aligned with market group finance leaders and having no current direct reports. Provide timely information and quality insights on financial accounting matters and financial risks that enable Booz Allen Market and Finance leadership to execute strategic business initiatives according to Corporate Finance and Accounting standards and policies and identify opportunities continuously to enhance the finance function, including where the application of emerging technologies and data analytics can deliver more efficient and effective results. Promote and implement accurate and timely revenue recognition and financial risk reporting procedures across the contract life cycle and seize upon opportunities associated with Booz Allen’s Finance transformation to journey toward a world class public company finance organization by increasing strategic value and accountability, mitigating the risk of poorly conceived initiatives or investment decisions, and avoiding inaccurate forecasts. Lead interactions with Booz Allen’s external auditors on highly technical and complex accounting areas and promote and contribute to Booz Allen’s overall system of compliance, including internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley, and US government Cost Accounting Standards compliance. Initiate financial training to ensure understanding and compliance with markets and corporate accounting procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

-12+ years of experience in a finance leadership role working with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

-Experience with communicating business and accounting issues to finance and nonfinance audiences

-Ability to instill trust, demonstrate integrity, and creates a high sense of accountability

-Ability to make well reasoned decisions in a professionally skeptical manner

-Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA credentials, including Certified Management Accountant

 Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of accounting and reporting practices, including project cost accounting and estimation systems of a publicly-held government contractor

-Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and other tools and technologies that leverage data analytics and enhanced reporting

-Ability to drive for results and a customer focus

-Possession of ethical standards, including being direct and honest individual able to collaborate at all levels

-MA degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or other financial related field a plus
