Environmental, Health, and Safety Senior Manager

Key Role:

Serve as Booz Allen’s Corporate Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to oversee organizational compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and health regulatory standards. Analyze and monitor EHS policies, programs, and procedures across the firm’s operational footprint. Support corporate EHS training and awareness programs, compliance assurance audits and inspections, regulatory compliance and performance reporting systems, benchmarking, and continual improvement. Facilitate cooperative working relationships among Booz Allen’s market teams and geographically dispersed corporate offices with differing missions. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program development and management activities

  • 5+ years of experience in the development, implementation, auditing, and improvement of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS), or Quality Management Systems (QMS)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to influence and lead a team

  • Ability to be a self-starter and demonstrate passion and drive

  • Ability to travel, including locally within the D.C. metropolitan area and occasional business travel for audits, site inspection, and technical support visits

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in the EHS field with data sampling, auditing, analysis, and reporting

  • Knowledge of EHS Regulations, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CECRLA, NEPA, relevant Executive Orders, and OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, such as planning, permitting, and training requirements

  • Ability to leverage own insights in developing and using leading and lagging indicators to measure safety performance and promote continual improvement

  • Possession of strong business acumen, analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational behavior skills

  • Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in an EHS or related scientific or engineering field preferred

  • Completion of accredited Management Systems Lead Auditor training

  • Certified Auditor Lead for EMS, OSHMS or QMS

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or former federal or state regulatory agency compliance inspector Certification
