ForeScout Engineer

The Challenge:

As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the tools needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions.

On our team, you’ll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of network and security systems. You’ll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience in ForeScout, you’ll assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls.

In this role, you’ll impact our nation’s cybersecurity by mentoring, challenging hands-on problem-solving, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills. We focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
  • Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises. 
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas; leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience working in IT in a professional environment 
  • 1+ years of experience with deployment or daily maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances 
  • Experience performing physical or logical network engineering, including installation and activation of ports and the configuration of switches, LANS, VLANS, and network FW, or appliances or network administration services, including Active Directory, Guests LANS, and domain management 
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools 
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience performing systems administration in Windows, Linux, or VMware environments, including performing basic troubleshooting, installation, configuration, monitoring system performance or availability, and performing security upgrades 
  • Experience with Linux administration, including Debian and RedHat distribution variants or derivatives 
  • Experience integrating Cybersecurity data using enterprise and custom tools data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk 
  • Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems 
  • Knowledge of SolarWinds, FireEye, WUG, and network packet sniffers, including Wireshark 
  • Ability to provide support in an IT operations and maintenance Tier II role, including ticket work information updates, issue response, and remediation
  • ForeScout Certification, including FSCA or FSCE Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
