Key Role:
Provide COVID-19 epidemiological support through focused biosurveillance, risk assessment, and force health protection recommendations and activities. Support COVID-19 biosurveillance activities, including collection, analysis, and reporting of data and information. Identify COVID-19 trends from biosurveillance information to assess risks and develop recommendations to mitigate risks to personnel. Report COVID-19 analysis and information for the European Region and coordinate with domestic and international partners. Contribute infectious disease subject matter expertise for pandemic infectious disease plans, participate in pandemic and infectious disease-focused exercises, and plan pandemic and infectious disease aspects of other exercises This position allows for remote support but requires international travel for business meetings of up to 25% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with post-graduate applied work in public health or epidemiology, including the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of infectious disease surveillance data
-5+ years of experience with scientific writing and presentation for various audiences, including technical reports, presentations and briefings, plans, and non-technical information papers
-2+ years of experience with working in the US DoD
-Knowledge of infectious disease immunology, diagnostics, therapeutics, and preventive measures
-Ability to travel internationally for business meetings up to 25% of the time
-Active Secret clearance
-MD, DVM, or PhD degree
