Information System Security Officer

The Opportunity: 

As a cyber mission specialist, you understand the value of hunt-forward operations, and you know that battles are won in the grey. We’re looking for an experienced cyber mission specialist like you to apply your knowledge of cyber threats, vulnerability management, system and application security, and compliance to impact our nation's security.

In this role, you’ll be counted on to understand complex information system and application architecture to evaluate potential weaknesses as well as the effectiveness of controls and mitigations.  You'll lead Cybersecurity, Compliance, System and Application Security of mission critical systems as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO). You'll work Information System Owners, Software Engineering teams and leverage your expertise to conduct vulnerability management, monitoring, compliance, and research and analysis to maintain and improve security posture of systems and applications.  You'll work with DevSecOps teams to engineer automation of security configuration and monitoring solutions for high velocity application development teams. You Have:   

  • 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or Software Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in Risk Management Framework such as NIST SP 800-53

  • 3+ years of experience in Application Security and Vulnerabilty Management such as SAST, DAST, and CVE

  • Experience with Continuous Monitoring, Plan of Actions & Milestone (POA&M) Management, and System Security Plans (SSP)

  • Experience with Windows Server

  • Experience with STIGs

  • Experience in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Powershell, C#, or Java

  • Knowledge of web technologies, networking, application and information system architecture

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

   

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience with eMASS

  • Experience with Cloud & Cloud Security such as AWS or Azure

  • Experience with web-application penetration testing or red/blue teams

  • Experience with CI/CD Security Gates and DevSecOps pipelines

  • Experience with deployment and operations of security tools such as Elastic, Splunk, or Wazuh

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
