Internal Auditor, Mid

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for the planning, fieldwork, and reporting for assigned internal audits, as outlined in the annual Internal Audit Plan, including the execution of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and testing, prepare and report findings, and recommend corrective actions for control and operational improvements, as necessary. Work in operational or compliance audit areas, including Contractor Business System reviews. Work with external auditors in the area of SOX compliance, address walkthrough and testing questions, and provide SOX cycle documentation. Interface with groups, including accounting, finance, and operations on cross-functional efforts impacting the teams, as needed and provide other team members with appropriate guidance during the audit. Assist senior leadership with special projects, as requested and assist internal audit management with the execution of projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit department, including development of data analytics, continuous auditing techniques, or internal metrics. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with business operations, financial planning, internal audits, accounting, or financial reporting

-Ability to show a team-orientation to work within a collaborative matrixed environment

-Ability to facilitate discussions yielding positive outcomes
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in implementing and maintaining compliance with the requirements of SOX 404

-2+ years of experience with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations for financial reporting
-Experience in auditing with a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm

-Experience with government contracting rules and regulations
-Experience with data analytics

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

-CPA, CMA, or Certified Internal Auditor Certification
