Paralegal, Mid

Key Role:

Perform a variety of tasks under the direction of the organization’s attorneys within the firm’s Legal, Ethics & Compliance Department. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, support outside counsel management and lead various legal processes. Provide support to the department’s attorneys with a focus on handling of leasing and related matters for leases/subleases and license agreements; such work includes assisting with drafting real-estate license agreements, amendments, modifications, and other ancillary real estate documents. Provide general support to the Global Transactions and Innovation (“GTI”) team including, but not limited to, new hire intellectual property disclosure review, global employment agreement template management, and Sharepoint site administration and learning and assisting with other legal areas as needed. Provide administrative and logistical support for legal operations, including vendor management, invoice troubleshooting and document management. Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and clients, both internally and externally. This position is open to temporary remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal at a law firm or as part of an in-house legal team

  • Experience with business software tools, including Microsoft 365, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and OneDrive, and Adobe

  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage a high-volume and diverse workload consisting of a wide variety of administrative tasks while meeting short deadlines with minimal manager supervision

  • Ability to use strong oral and written communication skills to influence, inform, and problem-solve with senior leaders and staff throughout the organization

  • Ability to perform basic contract administration duties, including uploading documents to SharePoint sites

  • Ability to effectively manage programs for identified projects by leveraging skills to efficiently create, execute and monitor project plans, schedules, deliverables, metrics and communications for projects

  • Ability to learn new technology, tools and platforms, and act as a resource to teach others

  • BA or BS degree
