Publications Officer

The Challenge:

Critical decisions are made every single day in our government. What if you could use your editing skills to help them make informed decisions? With all the information available today, it takes a skilled editor to know how to organize and present the data to give their clients the right answers. As a publications officer, you'll use your specialized technical, editing, and writing experience and your attention to detail to refine reports, intelligence products, and analytic assessments to give your client the actionable intelligence and context they need. If you have strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset, we have an opportunity to use those skills to support our national security and inform leaders.

As a publications officer on our team, you’ll help your client understand their mission environment. Using your understanding of intelligence analysis, you will review information from disparate sources including SIGINT, GEOINT, and OSINT in the form of finished intelligence production. You’ll validate information and apply client tradecraft as you edit products for intelligence community (IC) publications. As an experienced editor, your client will look to you for time critical recommendations, often under pressure. This is a chance to grow your expertise, develop new skills in editing, writing, and analysis, and share your methodologies with other officers. We focus on growing as a team to deliver the best support to our customers, so you’ll have resources for mentoring and learning new skills and tools. You’ll maintain responsibility for professionally editing analytical products that support key US national security and foreign policy objectives. You’ll review and edit products to align with style guide standards. You’ll review and edit graphics, including interactive media, assist with the development of visual aids, ensure proper formatting, and verify proper sourcing of products and graphics. Join us as we provide the right information at the right time to support the critical needs of our IC.
