Security Configuration Engineer

Key Role:

Collaborate with other Information Technology (IT) professionals to collect information and evaluate capabilities, formulate test plans, and provide proposed solutions. Provide oversight for the enterprise security stack control configurations, identify gaps, and facilitate opportunities to harden security posture while maintaining operational performance. Provide analytical support for the development of security configuration management policies and procedures, provide recommendations for our secure baselines, and validate that our systems are adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and approved security standards. Lead the technical delivery of strategic initiatives and projects from inception to delivery and provide ongoing status, including any associated risks or dependencies that may impact delivery. Review the configuration of security policies and provide recommendations for hardening, and identification and remediation steps to address security concerns. Provide subject matter expertise to ensure security is being incorporated into new technology solutions, and ensure they are meeting our standards and requirements. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with applying network rules and policies and ensuring they are compliant to reference architecture designs, standards, and security policies
  • Experience with reviewing endpoint configuration management security review, design, and implementation
  • Experience with designing and installing customized software and hardware solutions both on premise and within cloud-based or cloud native solutions
  • Knowledge with designing and providing support for the implementation of technical security programs, including people, process, and technology, to mitigate security threats and risks that may impact the business through a holistic global program-oriented approach
  • Knowledge with providing detailed specifications for proposed technical solutions, including resources needed, timeline, and scope involved within a transformational program
  • Knowledge of best practices regarding system security measures, and implementing them at a business-wide level
  • Ability to assist other IT engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and present analysis and findings to peers and leadership
  • Ability to conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • IAM Level II Certification

  • Experience in collaborating with dispersed teams and contributing on global and multi-functional teams
  • Knowledge of multiple IT operational and security disciplines
  • Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks
  • Ability to balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within time and budget constraints to solve problems or meet objectives
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff, and influence without authority
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational direction, time management, prioritization, goal setting, leadership, motivation, negotiation, and interpersonal relations skills

The salary for this position will be determined based on various factors. The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $110,000 to $145,000.
