Public Health Analyst

Key Role:

Assist in developing and coordinating substance misuse prevention programs for Naval client. Identify and conduct national substance misuse prevention research, and assess statistical trends and issues through constant review and analysis of national and private sector publications. Provide monthly analysis/reports from those findings. Plan and conducs focus groups to gain insight into opinions and perceptions of military life and prevention efforts aimed at helping service members and audiences understand Naval drug and alcohol policies. Produce after action reports to present focus group findings and supporting statistics. Research and write briefs, point papers, and other documents to support or explain the objectives of drug misuse prevention programs. Stay apprised of current prevention trends, projects, and evaluation information as basis for developing effective, innovative prevention programs which enhance the organization’s readiness. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in data and statistical analysis 
  • Experience in public health disciplines to design, develop, and implement programs and policies
  • Knowledge of the appropriate tools, technology, and methods needed to support design, development, implementation, and analysis of programs and policies 
  • Ability to plan and conduct data collection and analysis, communicate clearly, and negotiate product timelines and priorities
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance 
  • Master's Degree  

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with DoD or military health and substance abuse programs
