The Challenge:
Your combination of people skills and technical expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting the Air Force? We’re looking for a Database Administrator with a solid background with DoD and specifically Air Force networks. This person will work closely with our Cybersecurity Team and equipment specialists tracking software licenses and hardware warranties to complement the operations and configuration of the network.
As a Database Administrator on our project, you’ll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available, constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies, and update and patch critical systems. You’ll help customers overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. Your experience and communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning. This is an opportunity to gain experience in state of the art modernization within the Cyber world. Working with Air Force fighters and growing the knowledge and skillset to support future warfighters. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. You Have:
5+ years of experience working with Database Administration
Experience working with Oracle and SQL databases
Experience with designing the physical structure of complex databases, considering access methods, frequency of access, storage media, data volatility, or search strategies
Experience designing and modifying storage structure and mapping between database functions to improve efficiency and reliability
Knowledge of complex data management concepts, principles, and methods
Ability to implement strategic data planning practices by structuring data and applications independently to allow data sharing across functions and among using organizations
Top Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Experience with designing and developing changes or modifications to programs when conflicting requirements are found
Knowledge of software programming languages, including Ada, C, C++, COBOL, Java, Fortran, Pascal, and Visual Basic
Knowledge of a broad range of systems analysis concepts, techniques, and principles sufficient to evaluate business practices and processes, evaluate the feasibility of systems development projects, and develop functional requirements and specifications
Knowledge of applications software development and design concepts and techniques sufficient to design, develop, code, test, and debug large and complex programs
Ability to design, develop, test, evaluate, install, and fine-tune IT programs
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree
