Personnel Security Specialist

Key Role:

Serve as a part of a corporate security division within the Security Shared Service Center. Act as a team player, exhibit flexibility, set priorities, and manage client expectations in a fast-paced environment. Work within a team environment and make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions to effectively communicate information to various audiences orally and through written communications. Leverage expertise with administering US government security policies and procedures, as it relates to the personnel security program. Maintain responsibility for conducting pre-screens evaluations, updates to various databases, security clearance processing, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Address personnel security matters and other clearance related actions for personnel requiring clearances for collateral and SCI positions. Interact daily with internal and external clients and government security officials to resolve issues. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Defense Information Security System, eQIP, and Army Centralized Contracts and Security Portal

  • Knowledge of SCI personnel security packages and processing procedures, NISPOM, SEAD, DoD directives, EOs, or ICDs

  • Ability to navigate multiple DOD SCI components and Intelligence Communities

  • Ability to have completion of DCSA Courses, including Personnel Security Management and Introduction to DoD Personnel Security Adjudication

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience as a Personnel Security Specialist or Master’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer or Certified Special Security Officer

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Colorado: $51,000 - $104,000 (annualized USD)

New York (including New York City): $53,500 - $124,000 (annualized USD)
