Semiconductor Engineer and Scientist

Key Role:

Perform system design, analysis, and reverse engineering in support of technology protection and anti-tamper efforts for Navy and DoD programs. Focus on research, design, analysis, prototyping, and reverse engineering. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Assist with developing test requirements, develop test plans or procedures, and analyze test data and results. Prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other technical documentation. Apply engineering expertise to perform functions, including system research, design, integration, prototyping, analysis, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs. Perform research and system analysis of semiconductor technologies and underlying gate structures of FPGAs and ASICs for several government and military programs, reverse engineer silicon-based architectures, and conduct electrical component failure analysis, reverse engineering, or electrical component IC design.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with semiconductor technologies, gate structures, or IC or ASIC design

-Knowledge of silicon structures for gates, registers, memory, and complex electronic logic functions

-Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and methods

-Knowledge of system design, integration, and prototyping

-Ability to conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

-Ability to develop test requirements and test plans

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in EE, Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering with a semiconductor focus, Physics with a semiconductor focus, or CS with a hardware focus

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with system design, integration, and prototyping

-Experience with analysis and development software, including MATLAB and LabView

-Experience with semiconductor analysis and failure analysis tools, including Laser Voltage Probing, Laser Voltage Imaging, Focused Ion Beam, Electron Scanning Microscope, or Optical Scanning microscope

-Experience with programming and scripting languages on both Windows and Linux platforms

-Experience with electrical component failure analysis

-Experience with Verilog or VHDL

-Knowledge of high speed and high-resolution data acquisition systems set-up and configuration

-Knowledge of computational electromagnetics solution methods, including MoM, PO or GO, UTD or GTD, and FDTD

-MA or MS degree preferred; PhD degree a plus
