Strategic Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Provide detailed analysis and planning support for long lead projects and emerging strategic initiatives in the Pacific AOR that impact 3D MLG and analyze, assess, and recommend implementable updates and changes to the Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI) and Distributed Laydown (DL) for logistics units. Analyze and assess Marine Corps Strategic guidance documents for impacts and issues relating to 3D MLG equities and analyze and provide planning expertise in the development and update of all assigned operations plans. Conduct strategic analysis and long-range planning to identify and recommend updates or new operating concepts for 3rd MLG and III MEF OPLANS, TPFDD’s, and exercises and provide planning support for the development and update of all assigned operations plans. Assist with the design and execution of exercises to properly test recommended operating concepts and identify gaps in capability and required adjustments to operating concepts to account for environmental changes and new and emerging friendly capabilities and enemy threats. Review OPLAN TPFDD’s to identify discrepancies, redundancies, and shortfalls of program of record TPFDD. Recommend processes and concepts to test in exercises ISO OPLAN adjustments and develop logistic estimation tools and planning factors in support of contingency and deliberate planning. Assist the 3D MLG G-3 Plans OPT Leader with Operational Planning Team support, develop and analyze OPT products as part of the Marine Corps Planning Process, and coordinate with other MLG Staff Sections and 3D MLG MSEs on OPT participation and product development.

Basic Qualifications:

-3 years of experience with current Marine Corps logistics concepts, capabilities, force structure, and organization

-Experience in the military as a Field Grade Officer preferred

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, or PowerPoint at intermediate or advanced levels

-Experience with briefing and engaging in discussions at the Senior Executive and General Officer levels

-Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing on complex data analysis topics to Senior Executive and General Officers

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-1 year of experience with working on the Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI) and the Pacific Distributed Laydown

-Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt training preferred
