SQL Database Administrator, Mid

As a database developer, with a solid background in developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases, you know how to manage and secure database technology.

What if you could use those skills to improve the database technology supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs?

On our team, you’ll design stable, reliable, and effective databases, optimize and maintain legacy systems, modify databases according to requests, perform tests, and solve database usage issues and malfunctions. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools like MS SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, and PowerShell to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical database.

In this role, you’ll closely impact the Department of Veteran Affairs by communicating with developers to improve applications and establish best practices. With your technical expertise, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we’ll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in database development

  • Experience with technologies, including MS SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, PowerShell, Delta Lake, or Synapse Analytics

  • Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications

  • Ability to understand front-end user requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience gathering user requirements and identifying new features

  • Knowledge of .Net Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and Oracle

  • Ability to research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 90,000 to 120,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
