Site Reliability Engineer

Key Role:

As a Site Reliability Engineer on our team you'll design, develop, implement, and configure cloud system environments and tools. Work with Development teams to develop and implement AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial Cloud and Microsoft Azure architectures to meet existing and emerging requirements.  Implement and maintain security controls and features to support and address challenges on PaaS and IaaS environments. Apply consulting and technical expertise and full industry knowledge, on VA cloud solution tailoring. Develop or support innovative solutions to complex problems, define, communicate, and implement cloud architecture and administration processes for VA platforms. Apply technical expertise and industry knowledge to programs and projects. Work with minimal supervision within established procedures and practices and serve as informal lead or mentor to junior team members. This position will require working standard support hours between 7am to 9pm EST, including on-call support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as required. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of experience with cloud or Virtual IT architecture and tools 
• 2+ years of experience with defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards 
• Experience with providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating test processes, including manually and automated, and procedures 
• Experience with performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting of issues and support of change and problem management processes 
• Experience in working with multiple Cloud Service Providers, including AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, and Azure
• Ability to design solutions and recommending the most suitable design packages to improve current administrative security levels and performance 
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math and 10 years of experience with engineering or a total of 18 years of experience with engineering in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications: 

• Experience with supporting engineering applications in a cloud environment 
• Ability to track, mitigate, and remediates software and hardware vulnerabilities with the cybersecurity team 
• Ability to manage resources, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop, Lighthouse, Active Directory, and other network resources in a Cloud environment
• Ability to demonstrate the leadership behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across boundaries to deliver positive results 
• Ability to be a highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, strong work ethic, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment 
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
