Ocean Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Participate in the development of upgrades and modifications to manned and unmanned undersea vehicles and surface craft. Participate in the development of ocean sensor and communications systems, both for the undersea and on the surface. Design prototypes using tools including SolidWorks, MATLAB, and others. Participate in planning and execution of testing of ocean systems and vehicles at sea and in the lab. Support the analysis of weights and buoyancy for undersea vehicles, analysis of hydrostatics and stability, analysis vehicle structures, and design systems and subsystems for ocean vehicles and craft.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience with designing, building, and testing of undersea and surface vehicles or craft, ocean instrumentation and sensor suites, and equipment that can operate in offshore or coastal environments
  • Experience with 3D modeling and design using SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or Solid Edge
  • Experience with analysis of hydrostatics and stability, speed & power, stress analyses, fluid mechanics, and mechanical design
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with MATLAB
  • BA or BS Degree in Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture
