Ordnance Analyst

Key Role:

Provide business transformation and risk mitigation services to support the advancement of a Navy Ordnance program, focusing on the business processes, internal controls, and systems related to government asset property, equipment, and materials accountability. Serve as a subject matter expert for a Command Ordnance program and analyze the generation and revision of policies, operating procedures, and audit-focused control documentation. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and the completeness and accuracy of amounts recorded into the Ordnance Information System (OIS-Navy) and perform logistics, risks, and industrial assessments on ordnance systems. Coordinate inspections and site visits from Navy and external auditors at the type commander, unit level, and Navy Munitions Commands (NMC) to provide explanation, training, and demonstration of internal controls and processes. Establish and maintain an effective master schedule, objectives, and milestones, including the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate process and control deficiencies.  

Basic Qualifications:

-6 years of experience with providing ordnance, logistics, inventory, and supply management support in the DoD

-Experience with OPNAV M-8000.16, NAVSEA OP-4 Rev 11, and other Navy policies pertaining to ordnance and ammunition management, including NAVSUP P-724: Conventional Ordnance Stockpile Management; NAVSEA OP-5 Vol 1: Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore, NAVSEA OP-5 Vol 3: Ammunition and Explosive Safety Ashore for Contingencies, OPNAVINST 5530.13: Department of the Navy Physical Security Instruction for Sensitive Conventional Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives, and OPNAVINST 4440.26B OM&S Accountability and Maintenance

-Experience with the requisition, receipt, allocation, and usage of aviation and ground munitions and the programs used to document and track them

-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

-Knowledge of the Navy Ordnance Information System (OIS)

-Knowledge of the Explosive Safety Program

-Knowledge of government ordnance management, regulations, and publications

-Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree

-BA or BS degree
