Planning and Engagements Subject Matter Expert, Senior

Key Role:

Support an Army client using your expertise to design, implement and maintain program priorities, requirements and deliveries to meet the strategic objectives of the organization. Support the development of strategic partnerships with various government, academic, and industry entities and organizations. Serve as a trusted advisor ensuring we meet and exceed expectations by navigating requirements, budget constraints, staffing challenges, and the nature of government organizational alignments as well as identifying opportunities to grow the business. Act as a direct advisor to the most senior clients on the highest-level decisions, setting strategic direction, mandated programs, understanding, and articulating highly complex business problems. Plan and implement strategies and approaches for multiple organizational strategies, transformation, and change components. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts to solve unusually complex problems with highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision; mentor or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with building and sustaining partnerships with academic, commercial and government organizations

  • Experience with defense security cooperation concepts, procedures, and execution, as conducted by Combatant Commands

  • Experience with supporting Defense operations, strategy, policy analysis, or planning with Service, Joint, non-defense organizations

  • Experience with strategic or operational partnerships supporting military service elements, Joint Commands, Defense agencies, non-defense organizations, or foreign nations

  • Experience with working in military service, including supporting senior military personnel and civilians

  • Knowledge of military processes, methodologies, and orders

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with working across Defense and academic partners to inform and support policy analysis decisions

  • Experience with the Defense strategy for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

  • Experience with drafting decision memos, briefing papers, and other papers on major Army topics in preparation for meetings with other government agencies, academic partners, and commercial organizations, including briefing senior leaders

  • Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • MA or MS degree
