Naval Surface Warfare Training Specialist

Key Role:

Provide SME support to the management of a Surface Warfare training program, including coordinating Navy Training System Plan (NTSP) technical updates with ships, navy training facility, training managers, civilian shore activities, and other assigned points of contact. Assess the effectiveness of the training curriculum and Navy training materials to ensure training meets objectives and is accurate. Coordinate with training managers to develop requirements for training events, including training evaluation assessments, meeting rooms, and support for external travelers. Assist with identifying and tracking lessons learned from training events to develop and provide recommendations. Develop curriculum changes, interim changes, or updates as needed. Develop and maintain a variety of schedules, reports, charts, and graphs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with conducting Afloat, shipboard, or Naval Surface training
  • Experience with evaluating training effectiveness
  • Experience with developing or recommending training material updates
  • Experience with using the Microsoft Office tool suite, including updating schedules and training material
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate both orally and in writing
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master Training Specialist (MTS) Certification, served in a training department of active duty or reserve US Navy command, Navy NEC 9502 instructor Certification, or trained in the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with using Naval Education and Training Command to develop curriculum, perform reviews, and log discrepancies
  • Experience with Navy Training System Program Plans (NTSP)
  • Experience with Authorizing Instructional Material (AIM) or AIM Learning Objective (LO)
  • Ability to establish weapon system training programs
  • Instructor or Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) Certifications

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,900.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
