Semiconductor Engineer, Senior

The Challenge:

What if you could use your semiconductor manufacturing skills to help stop threat actors or solve a cold case? As an expert in the processes around designing, manufacturing, and validating semiconductors, you can help provide new insights for advanced digital forensics. That knowledge is key when it comes to the cutting-edge techniques law enforcement needs to investigate modern technology. We’re looking for an engineer who can use their skills to develop novel capabilities to recover data from damaged devices or investigate possible integrated circuit (IC) counterfeiting or tampering.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with semiconductor engineering design, failure analysis, process integration, yield analysis, or quality assurance

  • 3+ years of experience operating scanning electron microscopes (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), or optical or emission microscopes used in failure analysis and fault isolation

  • Experience with device testing using various probing techniques, including in-circuit edit

  • Knowledge of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) device physics and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) transistor function

  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and the equipment necessary for processing

  • Ability to develop novel solutions in hardware data recovery

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with a reactive ion etch (RIE) and microwave plasma tools for etching and functional decapsulation

  • Experience with device delayering and general preparation in a laboratory environment using chemical and physical mechanical polishing

  • Knowledge of architecture and circuit schematic layout and design with the use of tools, including KLayout and Cadence

  • Top Secret clearance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
