Java Developer, Junior

The Challenge:

This role is more than just coding. We need a full-stack developer who will use their passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify and implement system improvements. Using modern agile practices, you'll work with the development team to build customized business solutions for critical federal clients. You’ll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you’re developing considers the current architecture and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. You Have:

-2+ years of experience with the maintenance or development of Java software, including Java desktop applications

-1+ years of experience with testing, analyzing, and debugging software, independently identifying root causes, and determining or designing patches to address bugs

-Knowledge of object-oriented software principles, patterns, and designs

-Ability to perform help desk duties, including the investigation or analysis of user reported issues or questions and providing timely responses with appropriate resolutions or escalations via e-mail

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in CS, Information Systems, or Software Engineering

Nice If You Have:

-1+ years of experience with Java UI maintenance or development using Java AWT/Swing

-Experience with using the iText Java library to programmatically generate PDFs and complete PDF forms

-Experience with Apache Lucene Search Index

-Experience with Java API for XML Processing (JAXP), XML SAX/DOM and related Java libraries, including Apache Xerces, Apache Xalan, or XStream

-Experience with source code version control using SVN or similar version control tools

-Experience with build tools, including ANT, Maven, or Gradle

-Oracle Certified Associate Java Programmer (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer (OCP)
