Risk Assessment SME

Key Role:

Provide support with risk assessment, toxicological reviews, and general contaminated site restoration advisory tasks in support of client requirements. Participate in discussions with stakeholders in communicating risk assessment technical information to help make project decisions. Teach and educate junior staff and clients on intricacies of toxicological studies, environmental exposure, and risk assessment efforts at contaminated sites. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with ecological and human health environmental risk assessment

  • Knowledge of toxicology, environmental exposure, and risk assessment at CERCLA and RCRA sites

  • Ability to support and lead risk assessment efforts at multiple installations across the country in moving forward remedial investigations at sites contaminated with emerging contaminants, including perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances

  • Doctorate degree in Toxicology

  • Certified Diplomate, American Board of Toxicology

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience reviewing and interpreting relevant regulations and guidance documents related to toxicology and product stewardship within the U.S., under the regulatory environment of the USEPA and several state agencies

  • Knowledge of toxicology to help conduct critical review of toxicology, risk assessment, and general site investigation plans and reports

  • Ability to educate junior staff and clients in the intricacies of toxicological studies, environmental exposure, and risk assessment efforts at contaminated sites

  • Ability to use computational toxicology to develop risk profiles using chemical analogues or read-across approaches


The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is $215,000 to $225,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
