As a systems engineer on our team, you’ll be supporting capability development on the Navy's tactical afloat network leveraging the latest platform and development tools. You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience with supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency

  • 4+ years of experience with Linux based operating systems, including CentOS, RHEL 6.x, 7.x, 8.x, and administration, installation, updates and patches, and troubleshooting

  • 2+ years of experience with network technologies, including firewalls, routers, and switches

  • 2+ years of experience with automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, including Red Hat Ansible and Hashicorp Terraform

  • Experience with deploying and managing a Kubernetes, OpenShift cluster

  • Experience with cluster storage solutions, including Openshift Container Storage/Ceph, VMware vSAN

  • Knowledge of virtualization technology including KVM, VMware, Red Hat Openshift Virtualization (QEMU/KVM)

  • Knowledge of container technology including Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with provisioning and managing persistent volumes for container workloads

  • Experience with handling different data storage types including file system, block, object storage

  • Experience with deploying Kubernetes, OpenShift on bare-metal and hypervisor layer

  • Experience with deploying Kubernetes, OpenShift in cloud-based environment, including AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Experience with DevOps tools and best practices

  • Knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, virtual networks such as Open vSwitch, or VMware vSwitch

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification
