Incident Response Counsel, Director

Key Role:

Work in a fast-paced environment helping clients by leading engagements and teams investigating computer security incidents. Collaborate with internal technical experts and external partners such as insurance carriers and law firms to help develop solutions to the toughest challenges clients face. Develop new relationships and expand existing ones with law firms and insurance carriers. Manage incident response, issue resolution, and assessment or communication of security risk to a client enterprise. Analyze available data sources, security tools, and threat trends to use in a business development capacity. Identify and pursue new client opportunities to expand incident response retainer base. This position may be located throughout the nation, including San Francisco, CA, San Diego, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Charlotte, NC, Denver, CO, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, NYC, and the DC Metro area and will require travel up to 70% of the time to client sites.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with incident response, threat detection, vulnerability assessment, SOC, or malware analysis
  • Experience in a professional work environment with a focus on Cybersecurity
  • Experience in seeing through the investigation and breach notification process and the conclusion of third party claims, including class action litigation and regulatory investigations
  • Ability to counsel cyber policyholders on all stages throughout the life cycle of a privacy matter
  • Ability to troubleshoot difficult problems
  • Ability to learn new expertise and areas
  • Ability to follow-up and follow through with commitments
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
  • JD degree required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of incident response frameworks and handling procedures
  • Knowledge of the Cyber Insurance Industry
  • Knowledge of Cyber risks and threats related to Cyber attackers
  • Knowledge of recent Cyber events and interpreting the kill chain process and threat impacts
