Cartographer, Junior

Key Role:
Provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support to government and military staff, generate digital maritime data sets to support worldwide safety of navigation. Perform research, analysis, and source package preparation. Extract features from a variety of sources, including rasterized nautical charts, digital surveys, and ortho–rectified imagery for the population of a digital nautical database.

Basic Qualifications:
-1 year of experience with GIS, including ArcGIS
-Experience with performing feature extraction and digitization of features and population of their attributes
-Knowledge of geospatial database content management
-Knowledge of basic coordinate systems and projections
-Knowledge of cartographic symbolization rules
-Knowledge of cartographic finishing techniques
-TS/SCI clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with creating shapefiles, geodatabases, and features
-Ability to work a swing shift from 2:00pm–10:00pm
