Platform Engineer, Senior

The Challenge:

In an industry where “Cloud” is sometimes synonymous with “genie,” it’s important to have someone on your team who knows how to engineer Cloud-based and hybrid on-premise/Cloud-based solutions. That’s why we need you, an engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with Cloud-based resources, to help us modernize the DoD.

As a platform engineer on our team, you’ll support efforts to manage a Big Data platform across multiple customers, including maintaining the operation and efficiency of that data platform. You’ll contribute to tool and capability recommendations based on your research of the current environment and various on-premise, Cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll work with migration teams, Cloud architecture, developers, and engineers to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to work with the latest Cloud resources as you learn prototyping using multiple techniques and new technologies. You’ll be able to gain experience with automation, platform management, and security while developing critical systems for the DoD. You Have:

-5+ years of experience in a technical consulting, solution architect, or pre-sales engineering role

-5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, or consulting with distributed applications

-3+ years of experience in an infrastructure, application support, or application development role

-Experience with maintaining a Hadoop ecosystem

-Experience with Cloudera EDH and its management tools and configuration

-Experience with multi-threaded, Big Data, and distributive Cloud architectures and frameworks

-Experience with troubleshooting complex distributed environments and taking corrective actions to ensure availability

-Experience in multiple operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server 2012 or 2016 and deploying with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift

-TS/SCI clearance

-BS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with supporting the intelligence community or Forces

-Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, Network, ELB, and S3

-Experience with Microsoft Identity services, including Active Directory Domain Services, Federation Services, and associated identity management tools a plus

-Experience with managing on-premise or Cloud environments using platforms, including Amazon Web Services, MilCloud 2.0, MS Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle

-Experience with working in defense or intelligence community Cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud, MilCloud, and C2S a plus

-Knowledge of FedRAMP, ATO, and the implications of C&A and SA&A

-Possession of excellent leadership skills to be used for consensus building and mentoring

Clearance:
