Spectral Scientist, Senior

Key Role:

Advance exploitation algorithms, processes, and tools for spectral data. Identify opportunities to improve performance, broaden application, and increase robustness. Formulate, implement, and evaluate solutions. Document results and share them with a large, like-minded team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with supporting spectral remote sensing projects
  • Experience with scientific programming languages, including Interactive Data Language (IDL), Matlab, Python, or R
  • Knowledge of hyperspectral processing and exploitation algorithms, including data calibration, atmospheric correction, target detection, and target identification
  • Knowledge of physical models for remote sensing and radiometry
  • Ability to produce effective verbal and written technical communication
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • BA or BS degree in Remote Sensing, Physics, Chemistry, Math, or Electrical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with supporting spectral remote sensing projects
  • 3+ years of experience with Interactive Data Language (IDL), including ENVI
  • Experience with developing hyperspectral processing algorithms
  • Experience with developing target detection/classification algorithms
  • Experience with designing and conducting experiments to understand remote sensing phenomenology or assess algorithm performance
  • MA or MS degree in Remote Sensing, Physics, Chemistry, Math, or Electrical Engineering

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
