Data Engineer

Key Role:

Support business decisions and customers with ad hoc analysis, reports, and data visualizations as needed in support of a U.S. military customer. Gather requirements and help business stakeholders formulate their data needs in implementable terms. Identify data sources and analyze data relevant to process improvement initiatives. Design, develop, test, and implement solutions that encompass data entry, processing, analytics, and knowledge for decision makers. Gather and process raw data at scale, including creating data entry forms, writing scripts, Web scraping, and writing queries. Provide advice on tools and develop solutions to be implemented to support data requirements. Deliver with minimal guidance or direct supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with knowledge management and data engineering
-5+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML 5, and CSS

-Experience with interface development, including translating requirements into code, implementing mockups, and developing and consuming RESTful Web services
-Knowledge of data modeling, structured query language (SQL), and geospatial databases

-TS/SCI clearance 
-BA or BS degree
-DoD 8570 Compliant Certification, including Security+
 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with NodeJS and ElasticStack

-Experience with ArcGIS Server and Portal

-Experience with Agile software development life cycle (SDLC)

-Knowledge of the software design and architecture process

-Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, including React and Angular
-Possession of excellent critical thinking skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent interpersonal, team and relationship–building skills

-BA or BS degree in CS, IT, or Engineering
